The sign up for the annual WNDX One Take Super 8 Event is open to register now! The registration period is from Monday May 27th to Friday June 7th.

The One Take Super-8 Event is one of the most important incubators for new works in Manitoba. Films completed for prior editions of the Winnipeg event have gone on to be selected for screening at Slamdance, Hot Docs, Images Festival, Antimatter, the Artifact Film Festival, among many more.

There are a total of 30 spots for this year’s One Take Super-8 Event. After the registration period is closed, a randomized lottery will be held on Friday June 7th to determine which filmmakers will receive the 20 highly coveted open spots ! (Ten spots from the program’s total 30 spots are reserved for the Winnipeg Indigenous Filmmakers Collective and the Black Film Collective, sponsored this year by the Harbour Collective.)

Selected participants will pay a $100 registration fee, which covers the material costs of the program: B&W film stock ( sorry, no colour stock this year!), processing, digital transfer and shipping expenses.

All participating filmmakers whose work is screened at the WNDX festival on October 6th will be paid a screening fee.

Super 8 Film pick up and camera rentals commence are available on June 14th.

Your shot Super 8 cartridge has to be submitted to the Winnipeg Film Group Production Office, 304-100 Arthur St by Monday, August 26th (no extensions).
